ABOUT ME

Thank you for considering me as your counselor.

As a clinical social worker, I am committed to support people in improving their quality of their lives. I attempt to pursue social change, particularly with and on behalf of vulnerable and oppressed individuals and groups of people through various modes of therapy, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and mindfulness.   Throughout my practice I provide a nonjudgmental stance and I am mindful of the individual differences and cultural and ethnic diversity one has.  I also promote people’s socially responsible self-determination and seek to enhance patient’s capacity and opportunity to change and to address their own needs.

In this line of work, it is amazing to see how positive progress is made with patients and how much their lives improve thanks to achieving small victories and through community resources/services that are offered such as through ReCenter Self Counseling Services.

EXPERIENCE

My experience as a Social Worker has varied throughout the years. I have experience with working with the State of Washington as a Child Welfare Social Worker.  I have worked as a Social Worker in an Adult Day Health setting working with elders and people with disabilities alongside their caregivers and family members as well as working in a Primary Care Clinic / Community Health Clinic Setting working with individuals of all social identities and their families working on multiple issues including mental health, obtaining access to health care services, and finding resources to help improve individuals or group of individuals’ lives.
